Glass blocks can create a shower partition that admits natural light while obscuring direct views. The Seves Nubio blocks are best for a classic wave look and moderate privacy; the rectangular Nubio suits layouts that call for a narrower shape, while the Diamond block offers a more distinctive pattern. The Raycity item is not a glass block, but it may be relevant to shoppers planning a shower: it is a water barrier accessory. Compare the listed dimensions and features before choosing.

Seves 8 x 8 Nubio Classic Wave Block
This Nubio block is best for buyers who want a familiar wave pattern for a shower or bathroom partition. Its textured design is described as providing moderate privacy while diffusing natural light, which can help brighten a space without leaving a clear view through the wall.
The product is also described as easy to clean, with a smooth surface that resists dirt and grime. Choose this option if you want a wave-pattern block and prioritize a balance of light and privacy. The listing does not provide a tested privacy level, so the actual degree of obscuring should be assessed against your needs.
Seves Nubio Block With White Edge Coating
This 8 x 8 x 4 Nubio block is best for buyers seeking the same general wave-pattern look with a white edge coating. The listing highlights moderate privacy, natural-light transmission, and easy cleaning, making it a relevant option for a shower or bathroom design.
Choose it if the white perimeter detail suits your planned layout. Its wave pattern is intended to diffuse visibility, not create a fully opaque wall. The listing does not specify how the edge coating changes installation requirements, so confirm the appropriate setting materials and method before purchasing.
Seves 4 x 8 Nubio Rectangular Wave Block
This rectangular Nubio block is best for buyers whose design calls for a longer, narrower block rather than the 8 x 8 format. The listed measured dimensions are 3.75 x 7.75 x 3.13 inches. Its wave pattern is described as providing moderate privacy while allowing light through, and its surface is described as easy to maintain.
Choose this shape if its proportions fit your intended shower wall or partition design. Do not assume the nominal 4 x 8 x 3 name is the exact installed size; use the listed measurements when planning. The product information does not specify a complete wall system or installation method.
Seves Diamond DM 8 x 8 Glass Block
The Diamond DM block is best for buyers who want a more pronounced decorative pattern than the Nubio wave design. Its internal diamond pattern diffuses visibility while allowing natural light to pass through. The listing gives approximate dimensions of 7.75 x 7.75 x 3.125 inches.
A white bond coating around the perimeter is listed to support adhesion with mortar and silicone. Choose this block if the pattern and perimeter coating fit your planned installation. The listing describes installation support but does not establish that a particular wall design or setting method is suitable for every shower.
Raycity 39-Inch Silicone Shower Water Dam
This product is not a glass block. It is best for a separate shower-planning need: limiting water flow at a threshold. The listed clear silicone strip measures 39 inches long and can be cut to length. The instructions say to clean and dry the surface, warm the surface and adhesive with a hair dryer, then press the adhesive-backed strip into place. Clear silicone caulk may be used along the bottom edge for added fixation and waterproofing.
Consider it only if you need a threshold barrier in addition to a glass-block design. It does not replace a glass-block partition, and the listing does not describe it as a substitute for a properly designed shower enclosure.
Buying Guide: How To Choose Glass Blocks For A Shower
How much privacy and light do you need?
Wave and diamond patterns are described as diffusing visibility while admitting light. The Nubio blocks offer moderate privacy; the Diamond DM listing emphasizes greater privacy than clear glass units. These descriptions are comparative, not measurements. Consider sightlines from outside the shower and inspect the pattern before committing to a full layout.
Which shape and dimensions fit the design?
Compare actual listed measurements, not just product names. The rectangular Nubio is listed at 3.75 x 7.75 x 3.13 inches, while the Diamond DM is approximately 7.75 x 7.75 x 3.125 inches. Account for joints and the full planned opening when calculating a layout. Confirm the final dimensions and installation details with the seller or installer.
What should you check before installation?
- Confirm how many blocks are needed for the planned wall dimensions.
- Check the product’s recommended setting materials and installation method.
- Plan for cleaning access and the finished appearance of edges and joints.
- Ask a qualified installer about structural support, water management, and applicable local requirements.
The listed features do not provide a complete shower-wall system specification. Do not assume that an individual block alone establishes a waterproof or code-compliant assembly.
