The best matte black ceiling fan depends on room size, ceiling height, and whether you need an integrated light. Among these options, the Ohniyou and TCL are 52-inch choices for buyers seeking broader coverage, while the Depuley, OPONL, and addlon are 42-inch models for smaller spaces. The listings describe the fans as black, but do not confirm a matte finish, so check the product images and details if that surface is essential.
| Fan | Best For | Size | Light |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ohniyou | App and remote control | 52 inches | Dimmable LED |
| TCL | Quiet operation and blade color choice | 52 inches | Dimmable LED |
| Depuley | Small rooms and adjustable lighting | 42 inches | Dimmable LED |
| OPONL | Remote control and six light temperatures | 42 inches | Dimmable LED |
| addlon | Small rooms and reversible airflow | 42 inches | Integrated light |
Ohniyou 52-Inch Fan With App Control
This 52-inch low-profile fan is best for buyers who want to adjust settings by smartphone app or remote. Its reversible DC motor has six speeds and a listed airflow of 4,580 CFM. The integrated 18W LED is dimmable from 5% to 100% and offers warm, natural, and cool color temperatures.
Choose this model if app control and multiple light settings are priorities. The product listing reports a noise level as low as 20 dB, but room conditions and installation can affect perceived sound. Its integrated light may not suit buyers who want a fan without lighting or a separately replaceable fixture.
TCL 52-Inch Fan With Reversible Blades
The TCL is best for buyers who want a larger fan with a choice of blade appearance. Its five wooden blades are double-sided, with black on one side and walnut on the other. The listing also describes a dimmable 20W LED with three color temperatures and a six-speed reversible DC motor.
Its reported operating noise is 25 dB, making it a consideration for bedrooms or other quiet spaces. Choose it if the blade-color option and 52-inch size fit your room. Avoid it if you need a smaller fan or want an all-black blade appearance on both sides; the listed reverse side is walnut.
Depuley 42-Inch Fan With Six Speeds
This Depuley model is best for buyers furnishing a smaller bedroom or another compact space. It has five blades, a low-profile design, and remote control for six fan speeds, stepless brightness adjustment, and three color temperatures. The remote also controls the timer and forward or reverse rotation.
Choose it if lighting flexibility and remote operation matter in a 42-inch fan. The listing describes it for indoor and covered outdoor settings, including patios and gazebos. It also says not to expose the fan directly to rain, so it is not a choice for an uncovered outdoor location.
OPONL 42-Inch Fan With Six Light Temperatures
The OPONL is best for buyers who want detailed control of the light and fan from a remote. It has three blades, metal housing, six fan speeds, six listed color-temperature settings, and smooth dimming from 15% to 100%. Its timer supports one- to six-hour settings.
The listing describes a pre-installed body intended to simplify installation, but installation requirements still depend on the home and existing wiring. This fan is listed for covered outdoor use, not direct exposure to rain. Choose it if light adjustment is a priority; consider another model if you prefer five blades.
addlon 42-Inch Fan With Reversible Blades
The addlon is best for buyers seeking a compact fan with remote control and reversible airflow. Its listed functions include speed adjustment, a one-, two-, or four-hour timer, and forward or reverse rotation. A memory function is described for retaining the previous setting when the fan is switched off at the wall.
Choose this model if those remote functions and the 42-inch size match your needs. It is described for indoor and covered outdoor spaces, but the listing says not to expose it directly to rain. The product details mention a double-sided blade design without specifying the opposite-side color, so confirm the finish before ordering if blade color is important.
Buying Guide
What fan size should you choose?
Compare the fan diameter with the room and the manufacturer’s installation guidance. The products here are 42 or 52 inches. The 42-inch models are the smaller options in this selection; the 52-inch models may be worth comparing for rooms where a larger fan is appropriate. Measure the room and check clearance requirements before choosing.
Do you need a light?
All five featured fans include an integrated light. Compare dimming ranges and color-temperature choices if you use the fan as a main light source. If you do not need a light, look for a fan-only model instead; none of the five selections here is a no-light option.
Which controls matter?
Remote controls are included with the listed models. The Ohniyou also offers app control, while other models emphasize remote functions such as timers, speed selection, and reversible rotation. Decide which settings you will use regularly, and check how the controls operate before installation.
Can a black ceiling fan go outdoors?
Outdoor suitability varies by product. Several listings describe use in covered outdoor spaces but warn against direct rain exposure. Confirm the model’s outdoor-use instructions and choose a location protected from weather. A black color description does not indicate that a fan is weatherproof or has a matte finish.
How can you confirm a matte finish?
These product details identify the fans as black but do not consistently specify “matte.” Review the current product photos and specifications for the finish, blade color, and housing material. If matte is a firm requirement, verify it with the seller before purchasing.
